About IIT Bombay:
IIT Bombay popularly known as IIT Bombay or IIT Mumbai ,founded in 1958 which attracts top ranking students. The university is situated in Powai region of Mumbai . IIT Bombay campus has 16 departments, 30+ centres, 3schools which provides more than 80 courses in the field of engineering and technology, Science and Management in UG, PG and Phd. In IIT institute B.Tech is one of the popular courses which are provided to their total 1558 students.
It is the first public college to laids its foundation stone with assistance from UNESCO. Later it was declared as Deemed University and it has autonomous nature.
Under Engineering category IIT Bombay ranked among 3 by NIRF 2023 and 2 by India Today 2023 and ranked 149 under top global Universities category on international level by QS World University Ranking 2024.
IIT Bombay takes admission on the basis of 10+2 with 75% in entrance and merit exam. For students who want to pursue B.Tech they can appear for JEE Advanced exam and JOSAA counseling. Overall cut off rank for B.Tech is around 67-8101 and fees for these courses is INR 1,00,000 for Indian National level per semester year and 3,00,000 for Foreign nationals per semester. For PG students they accept exams such as GATE, CEED, IIT JAM, CAT scores. For Mphil programmes they accept a score of MET. Also they provide short term courses, continuing education and distance learning.
After taking admission the University provides scholarships to their students in the form of Post Graduate Assistantship, MS Scholarship, Teaching Assistantship for dual degree and Undergraduate scholarship. And for the UG section they provide scholarships such as Institute cum Merit scholarship, Remission of fees, Private Scholarship, National Scholarship and National Talent Search scholarship. These scholarships are described as below:
- Merit Cum Means scholarship is the scholarship which provides to those students whose parental income is less than 4.5L they get a benefit of INR 25,000 per semester.
- IIT Bombay Heritage Fund Scholarship This scholarship is created by the alumni of the USA which collects donations from alumni. Only those students are eligible for this scholarship whose parental income is less than 5L.
- Aditya Birla Scholarships are based on the performance assessment students quantitative and qualitative parameters and covers the entire course and rewarded with INR 65,000 per annum.
IIT Bombay cut offs for B.Tech and integrated B.Tech courses are released after JOSAA Counseling and IIT JEE Advanced cut off 2024 released in the form of opening and closing ranks for different categories under AI Quota. For JEE Advanced counseling JOSAA( Joint Seat Allocation Authority) will conduct 6 rounds in June.
IIT Bombay provides facilities such as library, day care, event venues, sports complex, cafeteria, gym, modern amenities, recreation labs, convenience store, healthcare centres.
In IIT Bombay some of the companies which are coming to visit the campus are Airbus, Apple, Google, Intel and more companies which participated for providing placements and internship and with this 1,188 students are placed and 1,340 offers are made to the students. In the first phase 63 students got placed with the companies with an average package of 36.90 LPA . In 2023 the highest package on international level crossed INR 3.67 crore per annum and INR 1.68 crore per annum domestically.
The University has various faculties such as 680+ teaching staff and 99.82% Phd holders professors from various institutes and the faculty are very expert and well trained in their own fields. Not only this but also they have visiting faculty who visit college from time to time and also they have alumni in its educational and research activities. The campus invites them as a visiting faculty or guest speaker whenever it’s possible so the students can learn from their experience.
The institute releases the result after their announcement date and the university follows the pattern of summer and winter semester. Their results can be checked on the official website of deemed University. Students can check their result by following some steps such as they need to follow official website of IIT Bombay, then they required to go on the home page where they can go on the students tab where they can find the result option for which they can enter the details such as registration number after this they need to click on the login after this the result will appear on the screen.
