The Government of Rajasthan made the historic decision to create the Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication (HJU) in order to address the difficulties in the quickly diversifying sector of media and mass communication. Act No. 11 of 2019 from the State Legislature established HJU, which is tasked with bridging the knowledge gap in media education by conducting research, teaching, and training in mass communication, journalism, and related subjects.

HJU upholds the highest international standards for education and equips students to succeed in the classroom, in the media, and as teachers. The institution offers a cutting-edge, imaginative, and multidisciplinary education. In addition to providing academic information, the emphasis is on honing technical abilities and providing hands-on multi-media training in mass communication and journalism. The goal of Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication (HJU) is to become the top media education and research university in India in the future.
