About IIT Madras:
IIT Madras founded in 1959 and situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and also acknowledged as an Institute of eminence. IIT Madras ranked 1st position in top Engineering Colleges and it is the 3rd set up by the Government of India.
The University also collaborated with foreign Universities for student exchange programs where the students can participate in various programs. They signed many MOUs for students who choose UG, PG and dual degree programs and the students can also enjoy the abroad facilities to expand their exposure and knowledge as the university ties up with foreign universities.
The University provides around 100+ courses in the field of Engineering, Science, Humanities and Management to their students in different forms such as full time/ part time/ online courses in which the students can be comfortable and can choose their study mode. But the B.tech courses are the most popular programs conducted by IIT Madras.
In the IIT Madras admission can be conducted on the basis of national level entrance exams which include exams such as JEE MAINS, JEE Advanced, GATE and many more.
For the candidate who wants to take admission in B.tech admission is done on the basis of JEE Advanced entrance exam which later the selected students can follow by JOSAA counseling.
IIT Madras B Tech fees is 2.15lakh per annum.
Also at the time of admission the university provides scholarships to the students who need for their financial support such as Institutes merit cum 1.means scholarships are for those students whose parental income are less than 4.5 lakh get 67%tuition fees. 2.Another is Institutes free studentship scholarship is given to those whose parental income are less than 4.5 lakh get 67%tuition fees scholarship offered to 25% to UG students only 3.Institute National prize scholarship are given to those students whose parental income are less than 4.5 lakh then they provide benefit of one-time grant of INR 1000 to 7% of the students who are eligible for this criteria. 4. SC/ST scholarships are provided to those students whose parental income is less than 4.5 lakh to those students who provide benefits such as pocket allowance of INR 250 tuition fee with free messing.
Also they provide Government scholarships to students such as Ministry of social justice and empowerment, Ministry of tribal Affairs, Ministry of minority affairs, MHRD scholarships for single girl child, Aditya Birla Scholarship and many more
For IIT Madras 235 companies participated for internship and placements. The companies which visit the campus are named as BCG, Brain and Company, Adobe, Morgan and Stanley, Swiggy and flipkart etc.
They provide facilities to their students in the forms of library, cafeteria, medical, comp lab, sports complex, The Centre for innovation, Research park, Hostels.
The university has various faculties in their campus such as 550 teaching staff and 1250 administrative and supportive staff in which they include professors, assistant professors, associate professors and these professors are very well trained in their own fields and most of them are Phd holders not only this the university also has some guest lectures which visited campus as they are from national and international university.
