A 1998 parliamentary act created Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), a central university. MANUU’s main campus and headquarters are situated on 200 acres in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Telangana State. The university bears the name of the great scholar and freedom fighter Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, who served as India’s first minister of education after independence and envisioned and established the country’s higher education system in the fields of science, technology, and engineering.
The MANUU campus and administrative offices are located in Hyderabad, Telangana State’s Gachibowli on 200 acres. MANUU operates in 13 Indian states. Nearly 5,000 students are enrolled in various academic programs across campuses.
The MANUU Campus in Hyderabad is home to buildings for the Office of the Dean Students Welfare, Proctor’s Office, Bank, Post Office, Residential Staff Quarters, Polytechnic, ITI, Sports Ground, Indoor Stadium, Central Park, Four Boys’ Hostels, Two Girls’ Hostels, Two Guest Houses, a Health Center, Five Auditoriums, and an Open Air Auditorium Complex. - Hostel: The MANUU Campus has separate accommodations for men and women. There are two hostels for girls and four hostels for boys, all of which have basic amenities and wifi.
- Health Center: The Campus features a Health Center with all the tools and equipment needed to help students establish excellent physical health, encouraging them to take care of their physical well-being.
- Central Library: One of the key university resources serving the information needs of instructors, researchers, and students is the Central Library on the Campus. Knowledge materials pertaining to Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, Management, Engineering & Technology, and related fields are mostly held by the library. The library’s mission is to support Maulana Azad National Urdu University’s academic community by offering proactive and cutting-edge information services.

97 programs are available from MANUU in regular and distant formats. Furthermore, Industrial Training Institutes (08 Certificate Trades) offer vocational education. MANUU Admission
MANUU provides UG, PG, and Ph.D. programs in a range of subject areas. The results of the MANUU Entrance Exam or the CUET UG exam determine admission to UG programs. The entrance exam scores administered by MANUU or the qualifying exam’s merit are used to determine admission to the postgraduate program. For MBA/MCA/BTech Lateral Entry and B.Ed/M.Ed programs, respectively, MANUU also accepts scores from the AICTE Entrance Test and the NCTE Entrance Test. Admission to the MANUU PhD program is determined by the university’s admission exam and interview.
MANUU Application Process:
- Go to the University’s official webpage.
- In the upper right corner of the website, select the Admission tab.
- From the entrance tab drop-down list, pick the preferred choice.
- Select the ‘Register’ menu item.
- Make sure to complete all the required fields while registering.
- A confirmation email with the Registration Id and Password will be sent to the registered email address after all the information has been completed.
- Enter your registration ID and password to log in now. Finish filling out the application form in its entirety.
- Use a credit/debit card or net banking to pay the application fees.
- Send in the application.
MANUU Scholarship
Government Scholarships are available from MANUU to deserving students with stellar academic achievements. Through the official portals, students can apply for scholarships offered by Indian government departments and ministries. Below is a list of a few MANUU Scholarships:
Merit Cum Means Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses
The purpose of this scholarship is to give financially disadvantaged but deserving minority students the opportunity to pursue professional and technical education.
Eligibility: Students who have passed the previous final exam with at least 50% of the possible points or an equivalent grade and whose parents’ or guardians’ yearly income from all sources is no more than INR 2.50 LPA are eligible to receive scholarships.
The MANUU Fellowship
For regular Ph.D. research scholars, the University offers the UGC Non-NET Fellowship, which is worth INR 8,000 per month.
Eligibility: Students who follow the university’s rules and regulations and have 75% attendance. All financial aid will be contingent upon compliance with UGC and University regulations as well as funding availability.
